Renowned singer Junaid Jamshed has launched a collection of Na'ats' and 'Hamds' "Jalwa-e- Janan" depicting life and message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), here on Monday.
Meezan Bank has sponsored the collection to spread message of the Prophet amongst the young generation and inform them about Islam and its nature as a way of life.
Junaid Jamshed was very enthusiastic about this collection, calling it a service to Islam using his melody to serve the spiritual purpose of life. He informed the press hardships he encountered after renouncing his flashy life and abundant earnings. But, according to him, he was firm in his new found belief and Allah rewarded him with His bounty again. He called this new project as the essence of his lifelong experience and his awareness that this life was very short and ultimate destination was hereafter. He thought the Muslim youth had scant knowledge of our Prophet and this collection would help them know more about their beloved Prophet.
He admitted he was highly impressed by the poetry of Allama Iqbal that goes to claim that Allah demands complete love for His 'Habib' - Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and promises high reward for it. He said he had used verses of Maulana Taqi Usmani, Hakeem Akhtar, Allama Iqbal, famous Pushtu poet Rehman Baba and many others. According to him he had selected theme of 'Imamat' (leadership) from one of the poems of Allama Iqbal because he had described qualities of Muslims that would turn them leaders of the world. Meezan Bank CEO Irfan Siddiqui said his bank was a pioneer in Islamic banking and it wanted to help spread the message of Islam to the younger and older generations to reinvigorate and rediscover the universal character of their religion.
Siddiqui was highly grateful to the populace, who had given a warm reception to the Islamic form of banking in Pakistan. That was why they were opening their 26th branch in Peshawar on Wednesday.
Najmul Hassan, general-manager, corporate and business development, Meezan Bank said it was Junaid Jamshed, who enlightened him about many positive points of the Islamic banking that amazed him because Junaid was not in the Islamic banking business.
He was proud to claim that after 400 years, Muslims had brought something original and presented to the world. It was Islamic banking and many non-Muslims had also shown great interest in this banking.
